What are recovery attempts?

Per our terms of service, if a merchant's WePay payment account has a negative balance, we may deduct the funds from their incoming payments or debit any saved payment methods on file. Any attempts to retrieve funds from an attached payment method will show up as a recovery attempt on their transaction log.

We will continue to attempt recovery for the next 30 days until the negative balance is paid off. After 30 days, if the negative balance is not paid off, they will be referred to our internal collections department.
